Ceasefire deal between Ukraine and pro-Russian rebels is over
Lieder of the self-proclaimed Donetsk’s People Republic Aleksander Zaharchenko said that ceasefire deal between Ukraine and pro-Russian rebels is over.
As he wrote in his Twitter account: “We consider after today’s blasts in Donetsk even a formal ceasefire is finished”.
The shockwave from a powerful explosion at a Donetsk chemical plant could be felt kilometres away at a press conference held by pro-Russian rebels in the region.
There were no immediate reports of casualties although Shakhtar Donetsk’s Donbass Arena was damaged by the blast.
Fighting continues in eastern Ukraine despite a truce agreed on September 5th.
